It's hard to consentrate right now and we are thankful we don't have a roommate at the moment because Hannah's snoring could shake a house. She went to xray for a photo shoot. She was smiling for the camera on at least 12 pictures of her spine, neck, hips etc. She loved the attention and that Mindy, Kim, and Maureen all had pony tails!
She is off jello diet! Someone needs to research alternate uses to red, green, yellow, orange jello hospitals produce. I have seen many trays go and come and the colors of the rainbow are still uneaten. Hats off to the scientists who could turn jello into an alternative fuel source !
Today the goal is to take the foley catheter out and now we will begin to cath her.
Get her to eat and drink more.
Have her sit up at least 3 times for an hour each.
If we can do these things and have a good day without too much pain, we may head to rehab tomorrow. They have nursing but many more therapist that can help us with handling her and help with her overall stiffness and turning her head and neck.
Hannah is loving our nurse Heather. She is amazing and grew up overseas. Her parents are missionaries and she is such a burst of sunshine, that the Larkin family and Hannah are smitten.
She has already played "noseies, and given Hugs which for Hannah are just as good as hitting the pain pump.
Carly is well taken care of this week as my niece, Heather has cleared her schedule to take Carly where she may like to go. We are so thankful for the many people who have helped us all get so far and for Hannah being a real trooper!

Wow! It took me six weeks to be able to sit for an hour, so Hannah is off the charts!
I think that jello could possibly be nuclear waste...the underground tunnel system at Hopkins must have been designed to secretly channel illicit substances in the form of jello. They think we don't know, but we do. So, next time you see the tray of jello go by, check to see if it's glowing.
Way to go!!! Give Hannah a big hug from me.
Love,
Carlyn
This progress is totally amazing! But it shouldn't come as a surprise because Hannah is amazing, as are her trooper parents and fabulous sister. So glad Carly has Heather to hang with this week. I know you guys miss her and she misses you. You really had a lot on your plate for today, but the way Hannah seems to be responding, it sounds like it is all possible. And to think she may make it to rehab tomorrow--such incredibly great news. It sounds like you have gotten the best of the best at Hopkins--so glad as you absolutely deserve every kind, caring deed that can be done. Keep these wonderful reports coming! Barbara
I am in Pittsburgh again and finally got to a computer to pleasantly find ou that Hannah doing remarkably well. Hannah is definately a Larkin.I think you all should change your names to the Remarkables!!

Hi Larkins....
So many wonderful indicators of progress. I wonder if fries and hamburgers are yet named as authorized foods for little miss. We know Hannah likes a good burger!
It is so wonderful to see how well she is responding to the people who are supporting her, the situation she has been handed and the healing her body is poised to handle.
So much grace. May each day be easier than the last with more good things to reflect on and celebrate!
Yup.... I think we are celebrating a catheter, sitting up... and that we don't have to eat Jello if we don't want to and the angels in our life that take the form of everyday people!
Love you!
Rena
Hey Larkins, I am hoping everything went well today. I will be out of town and out of internet connection until next week. I just wanted to let you know that I will be praying for continued speedy healing, rest and peace for all of you. Love ya, Barbara P.
Yeah Hannah! We finally made it home froma a wonderful week at the beach. THANK YOU! Please tell Hannah that Sami and Mason loved playing in her bed and with her toys. (I have a funny story about Hi-Ho Cherry O to share.
It is great to hear that things are heading in the right direction. I know that Hannah will be glad to have some other comfort foods.
The Larkin family is so strong and you all can get through anything.
I will continue to keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. If you need anything please let me know and if Carly wants to come and stay she is more than welcome to.
Hugs and Kisses to all of you!
The Hill Family
