Independence Day

Today is Independence Day for Hannah!

She is no longer connected to the breathing tube! (bragging time - first words out of her mouth were "Tim.")

She no longer has the blood draining from her back!

She is elevated in bed and has her eyes open.

She has watched a Barney on TV.

She is watching a slide show of family pictures - Carly's Sweet 16, family beach pictures, etc.)

She is trying to pull things off her body. Nice try, but the hands are restrained.

She has asked for her wheelchair; i.e., get me outta here!

Very good day so far.

Have to go, they're doing a chest xray.

Happy 4th of July everyone!

With Love,

Tim and Katie

Who knew Hannah was so patriotic!!! It must be all of the Independence Day celebrations and parades at the beach that have instilled her love of the 4th of July:)

We can't think of a better gift to receive, than such a glowing report from you. Let the Barney Times Roll!!!

For your musical enjoyment, please sing this little ditty to the tune of the Barney theme song...heaven help the other patients who might be listening:(

We Love you,
you Love Us,
Spinal Fusin' Was a Must.

With a lot of love,
and some really good drugs,
Hannah's gonna give big hugs!!

Happy 4th,
The Rubins

Well I guess we all just got the best fire works by reading your blog. Who needs the mall?
I have never been more inspired by your fighter. Wow she is an inspiration. I loved her asking for her chair.Let's get the blank out of here. Now that is a child who has a brain and self preservation skills. My G-d help you and give each of you the same determination and srtenghth that your little Hannah has.
To one heck of a family!!!! All of my love

Great news! I love that she asked for her wheelchair! I hope she continues to make progress each day and that her spirits and yours stay high. Keep hanging in there and thanks so much for the updates.
Again, Katie, I am just down the street in Olney so if anything needs to be done at your house, please ask.
As always, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
