Workin So Hard!

Hi all,
We have been so busy Hannah and I from 7:00 am till 10pm. We have 2 physical therapies a day, 1 occupational therapy session, see the equipment people, have 3 play therapy sessions and have our daily nursing routine. Yesterday, they put Hannah in a stander so she can get use to putting weight on her legs again. She looks like a skinny giant!

Our dear friends, the Rubins, helped us get junior size clothes because Hannah's shirts pre-operation spine....are showing her midriff! With the huge growth in size comes junior department now!

Hannah's GI tract is slowly getting back to normal! Hurray "operation Constipation" can be over for now! That is making Hannah's appetite come back slowly too! Right now she is munching on some noodles with mom's homemade veg...soup on them!

Today I get a massage for 15 minutes in the social worker's room. Yeah! Looking forward to that and an afternoon walk if I can sneak away during Hannah's nap.
Hope all is well with all of you. Miss you. We will continue to work hard so we can come home soon.

Katie and Hannah

Dear Larkin Ladies,

Thoughts of disco Donna Summer's "She Works Hard for the Money" come to mind as you describe the rigors of rehab. Sounds as if there is no rest for teens with titanium these days. Is the parental massage perk only offered with an extended stay? We were not privy to such "luxuries" during our stay at Hopkins. You deserve every treat that comes your way as you work toward full recuperation and a return home to Tim, Carly, and of course, Chase. We anxiously await photos of Hannah posed statuesquely in her stander, modeling the latest in teen fashion. Is it time for our next shopping expedition yet? It's never too early to begin back-to-school shopping, and we're not talkin' #2 pencils! Enjoy the rest of your day. Take care of each other and know we love you.

Yours in fashion,
the Rubin Ladies

I know that you were so excited to get the massage. 15 minutes can do anyone some good.
It is great to hear that Hannah is getting her appetite back little by little.
Cutie really looks good with the other Cutie. Thanks again for the pictures.
We hope for a quick return home. We will continue to keep everyone in our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
The Hill Family

That is quite a schedule, but will really help get Hannah strong and back to her normal routine. It is amazing how much taller she is. She will enjoy the new clothes as will Carly (she can shop for her).
Take care and stay cool.

What a wonderful report. It is a good thing it is summer time with Hannah's new height. Showing her tummy won't be so chilly with the 90 degree temps. So glad to hear that Hannah's eating is improving. It sounds like they keep you so busy, but that is what you want. I had lunch with Bernie, Sandy, Gail H., Lori, Patti, Bonnie yesterday. Everyone was saying how wonderful this blog is and everyone is sending good wishes! You and Hannah are quite the team, keep up the good work! Love ya, Barbara

Awesome pictures! So good to see Hannah in the upright! I hope you were able to relax for at least some of the afternoon with a massage and a walk (although, who wants to walk outside in this heat - I can only imagine the concrete of Baltimore in this 97 degree weather....), glad to hear Hannah's diet is getting better too.
